Two very different performances coming up, first on Tuesday October 7th I will be returning to the stage on percussion duties with Leverage Models at Glasslands in Brooklyn for a show with Prince Rama and Puro Instinct. This is our first performance after a summerlong hiatus which saw me recording a lot of percussion for several new singles and the next album. Excited to get back on stage with them.
After that on Sunday October 12th I will be playing drums with the Pookestra at Shapeshifter Lab in the Park Slope/Gowanus area of Brooklyn. The Pookestra is a rather large ensemble of amazing players led by Carolin Pook and every show is different, but always weird and always a good time. This show is titled The Killer Is In The House and sees the Pookestra backing up singer Sarah Renfro. Always a great mix of detailed compositon, improvisation and lots of chance.
Will be improvising with Bejing saxophonist Li Zenghui at the Silent Barn in addition to guitarist Bohan Xie and Bass Saxophonist Matthew Choplick.

Out now on Megaforce Records. Vae Victus by Ikillya. I had previous filled in on the previous Ikillya record Recon... and last year they asked me to head to Staten Island and track their new album Vae Victus. Not only do I share a rehearsal space with these guys, but I consider them friends. So it's always good to help out when I can. You can purchase the album on iTunes or Amazon or any place you typically buy music.
You can also stream the entire album at Loudwire.

Recently released is a compilation of Kate Bush covers organized by the Bush League. The track was actually a "jam" in the studio for a potential Leverage Models song that ended up being the backing for Alena Spangler of Tiny Hazard to just absolutely KILL IT on. The compilation is a benefit for Reproductive Rights.

May very well be the last appearance of the "3 Drummer" version of the band for awhile. Also last NY show for a bit for the band as the band is heading on tour (minus myself) for March/April.

I am not in this video as I am not in the band, however those are my drummings in the song. The good news is Ikillya looks like they finally found a permanent drummer. I had been helping them out for a bit on some shows and did the drums on most of their first record "Recon". Last summer I got a call in the 11th hour that they needed me to do their new album also. So it was off to Staten Island to do 2 days of drum tracking. I believe the record "Vae Victus" is out in April on Megaforce Records.

I have been lazy with updating the site. Things like life getting in the way. That being said, there are a lot of updates coming this year. New releases from Zao, Emanuel and the Fear, Leverage Models, Amateur Blonde, Ikillya to name a few. In addition, some new projects and collaborators on the horizon. As part of my late 2013 early 2014 catch up. Here is a video from last fall's Leverage Models album featuring the wonderful Sharon Van Etten. Enjoy

This friday at Music Hall Of Williamsburg, we're opening for the "not legendary as they should be" Medicine. Don't think they have played since '95. Should be a good one.
