One afternoon I was sitting in my house contemplating making a cocktail while I was watching football. I decided not to. Next thing I know I have a text that somebody (who I was never able to pinpoint) recommended me to composer Fritz Myers as a drummer that could a) read music and b) had double bass drum abilities.  Fritz wanted to know if I could be at a midtown rehearsal studio in 2 hours to lay down some drum parts for a movie that was going to premiere in 2 weeks at SXSW.

When I got the the studio I was informed all of these "songs" which were essentially timed out improvisations/full on drum solos with very specific hits that had to happen at different times were a major plot point in the movie and a big part of the soundtrack.

It wasn't until after the fact that I realized the movie starred Re-Animator's Barbara Crampton (the horror movie buff in me was thrilled) but also Ally Sheedy (while I was never really into Breakfast Club until much later, an 8 year old me was absolutely obsessed with WarGames).

Bonus points for the movie also including songs by Christian Death and Gwar.

Extra bonus points for me actually really really enjoying it as a film.
